My Story
A born and bred Scot, I have always led an active lifestyle. Movement really is my medicine and reformer pilates is the perfect supplement to the strength training and running that I’ve always done.
When renovating my house, reformer pilates became a bit of a ritual to move my body and take my mind of the stresses that I was experiencing. At first I thought it would just be a hobby but over time I realised I needed a change of career and teaching pilates was going to be it. In 2023, after much deliberation on my future plans, I gained my mat pilates qualification. Shortly after that, having had my baby I qualified in reformer pilates. Being a mum, I realise now, more than ever, just how important it is to listen and take care of your body. Reformer Pilates has helped me with my posture, overall strength and flexibility. Not only that, but when I’m on the reformer my mind is thinking of nothing other than how my body moves and functions.

If flexibility is an element of your fitness that you're wanting to work on Reformer Pilates is perfect for gently elongating and stretching your muscles. This will very gradually expand their range of motion, and joints may even become more pliable.
-
The Reformer allows for a wide range of movement, which facilitates deep muscle engagement across multiple muscle groups. The result? A full-body workout that strengthens and tones muscles, with a low impact on the joints.

Pilates is not just a physical exercise; it is a holistic approach that encourages you to develop a deeper understanding of your body. Through mindful movement, you can cultivate a greater sense of body awareness, which allows you to make conscious choices about your movements and alignment.
